The ISO 9000 international standards have been developed by ISO (International Organization for Standardization) to define the key requirements  to the quality of management system of the machinery companies and  organizations.
These are general rules that can be applied  to any type of manufacturing process or business activity. ISO 9001 is the best known and mostly used standard  for the quality  management systems in the world. More than one million companies are certified according to this standard in 170 different countries. The first ISO version was developed in 1987, the second one in 1994 and  the third version in 2000.  The versions  ISO 9001 and  9004  have been issued  in 2008 and 2009. The latest version ISO 9001:2015 is the actual today.
